Shanujah Mathuranayagam is a lecturer (Probationary) affiliated to the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Jaffna. She earned her B.Sc.Eng (Hons) from South Eastern University of Sri Lanaka in 2017. She obtained her MPhil degree from University of Peradeniya (Sri Lanaka) in 2021. Her MPhil research was on the topic of ''Investigation of methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) migration in differently-characterized porous media''.

Her research interests are:

  • Ground improvement with stabilized solid waste
  • Greenhouse gas (GHG) transport in differently-characterize soil systems
  • Solute transport in differently-characterize soil systems
  • Estimation of soil moisture for paddy crop
