Mr. D. S. Sampath participated in the 4th symposium organized by the Young Scientists Forum (YSF) of National Science and Technology Commission (NASTEC) on 23rd January 2015 at Hector Kobbekaduawa Agriculture Research and Training Institute (HARTI), No.114, Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 7. Nine technical sessions were conducted during this conference with three parallel sessions as a time.
Mr. D. S. Sampath is a member of the YSF and he has published a part of his research work on “Application of WEAP model for assessing irrigation water availability: A case study of Deduru Oya reservoir” which was conducted during his M. Phil. Candidature. He has been selected as the ‘best presenter’ in the technical conference session on “Engineering, Physical Sciences and Information Technology” and awarded with a Merit certificate for his achievement. The research work which was presented in this conference was supervised by Prof. S. B. Weerakoon, Department of Civil Engineering, University of Peradeniya.
