Students of E/13 batch are undergoing an industrial training program for 12 weeks from 11th May 2015 to 31st July 2015. It is part of their compulsory requirement for their curriculum. This program is scheduled after the third semester of study as a general training session.
Students obtained training from 20 reputed organizations in many part of the country including Colombo, Trincomalee, Jaffna, Batticaloa, Puttalum and Mihinthale. A list of organizations offering the industrial training for the students is given below. Students utilize this opportunity to improve their skills and knowledge through actively involving in projects and field activities with the support of their supervisors.
Students performed many projects and field works during their industrial training program while working with different levels of employees and different of machineries. Some of the special projects they were working are; designing an automated measuring unit to check the quality of the apparels, designing a smart electricity meter, converting waste oil into grease, energy management projects, electricity wiring projects, waste water treatment projects, field works in bridge, water tank, building, road constructions and many more.
The industrial training evaluation panel visited every individual organization to evaluate the training program and the performance of the students. It is with the purpose of creating a long standing relationship with the industries and supporting the students to improve their training program.
