Faculty staff participated to the Stakeholder Consultation on Vertical Building Complex

The Stakeholder consultation on vertical building complex related to the 2017 budget proposal was held on 14th and 21st of March 2017 at the Chief Minister’s secretariat in Kaithadi, Jaffna. The discussion was to build a vertical building complex for commercial and recreational purpose. Eng. M. Vignarajah participated both meetings on the above title. During the meeting it was emphasized that a city development plan for the next 25 years, considering space management, traffic planning, utility managements, waste management etc. Also it was discussed that without demolishing the existing buildings, it is advisable to refurbish with modern architecture which manifest the local landscape. It was a golden opportunity for the Faculty to provide the technical advice for the better development.

The faculty is grown with over 30 permanent academic staff, where more than 50% staff are having Doctor of Philosophy in different expert areas. It has been stressed in many meetings to provide clear and solid guidance from the expert field of specialisation to the regional development. Now the faculty has started serving the best for the development took place in the nation. If all development is taken place solidly by considering its economic viability through experts’ advice then thus will be the sustainable development.
