Dr. K. Chelvakumar presently serving as a visiting professor in IIT, Gandhinagar (IITGN) informed the Faculty of Engineering that there are possible collaborations with IIT (Gandhinagar). As to initiate the relationship and to explore the possible collaborations, during the visit of Prof. Amit Prashant, Dean of Academic Affairs, IITGN, We, Faculty of Engineering academics had a meeting with IITGN delegates on 26th February 2016 at Jungle Beach Resort, Trincomalee.

As to initiate the relationship and to explore the possible collaborations, during the visit of Prof. Amit Prashant, Dean of Academic Affairs, IITGN, We, Faculty of Engineering academics had a meeting with IITGN delegates on 26th February 2016 at Jungle Beach Resort, Trincomalee. The meeting was attended by Dr. A. Atputharajah, Dr. A. Anburuvel, Mr. M. Vignarajah and Mr. R. Valluvan from the Faculty of Engineering, and, Prof. Amit Prashant, Dean of Academic Affairs, and Dr. K. Chelvakumar, Visiting professor from IITGN. The meeting started at 6:30 p.m. and went up to 9:00 p.m. Prof. Amit Prashant elaborately described the experiences that they had during the establishment of IITGN which is nearly 8 years old. Dr. A. Atputharajah indicated that, most of the experiences he shared were in line with what we’re experiencing presently here in Kilinochchi. Further in the discussion, both IITGN and Faculty of Engineering, University of Jaffna agreed to work closely on sharing experience, conducting collaborative researches and promoting combined study programs for students and the staff. IITGN delegates also requested the faculty of engineering representatives to pay them a visit so that to get a grasp of ground situation there.
