Field trip to first hybrid renewable-diesel power plant of Sri Lanka at Eluvathivu, Jaffna

Sri Lanka’s first hybrid power plant was developed in Eluvathivu Island, Jaffna. This plant is with a capacity of 60 KW will generate electricity using wind power, solar power, and diesel. It has been built with the financial assistance rendered by the Asian Development Bank and the Ceylon Electricity Board aiming the promotion of green energy at a cost of Rs. 187 million. One unit generated by this power plant will cost about Rs. 9.14.

Team of staff of the Faculty of Engineering, Engineers and professors visited to the Faculty of Engineering visited to this plant on 20th afternoon. This was very good relax trip while learning the first hybrid renewable-diesel plant in Sri Lanka.
