Report on Career Fair 2026

Location: Faculty of Engineering, University of Jaffna, Kilinochchi

The Faculty of Engineering, University of Jaffna, successfully organised the Career Fair 2026 on Friday, 24th July 2026, at the faculty premises in Kilinochchi. The event was conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., featuring a one-day programme that included an inauguration ceremony, on-site and online interviews, and informal networking sessions.

• 6 Companies participated physically and conducted on-site interviews.
• 12 Companies joined online, engaging with students through virtual sessions.
• Over 300 individual interviews (physical and online) were successfully conducted throughout the day.
• More than 120 final-year students participated in interviews across all departments.

In addition to recruitment activities, an IESL membership support session was conducted, while 300+ students from different batches secured signatures for their IESL membership applications. A few academic-industrial representatives' discussions were also held in the afternoon, focusing on curriculum enhancement, internship opportunities, and future collaboration.

To enhance student preparedness and employability skills, several preparatory programmes were conducted before the Career Fair:

• Informal CV feedback sessions and interview-focused guidance by Department Representatives and industry professionals.
• Guest lecture focused on what the industry expects from fresh graduates by IPD Colombo.
• Workshops to enhance skills in particular domains for students facing interviews/seeking a career in that domain (Agentic AI workshop by QNetwork AI and Electrical installation products workshop by IPD Colombo).
