The Engineering Week program was targeted to serve the best while creating excellent team working environment. This was inaugurated on 15th February and the closing ceremony is scheduled on 21st February, which is the birthday of the Faculty of Engineering students’ intake. As it is planned to be the largest event, it has been planned to include all the students and staff together. Mr. Velupillai Yogendran, a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, UK, Chartered Engineer, Chartered Water and Environmental Manager, Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, UK, and European Engineer (EurIng) visited the faculty on 11th February 2016. He is currently working in collaboration with the University of Surrey, Guildford, UK for the last 5 years, lecturing on Pollution Control, Waste Management & Water Treatment Processes to M.Sc. students at the University of Surrey. Building Information Modeling talk delivered by EngGemunu Nanayakkara
These two hours seminars on “Building Information Modelling (BIM)” were organized jointly by Faculty of Engineering together with Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka Northern Provincial Chapter. This was held in two places. On 27th January it was held at the Faculty of Engineering at Kilinochchi and 28th it was held at Euroville Conference hall in Jaffna to get the maximum benefits to the Students, Academics, Researchers and Engineers. The Faculty thanks Dr. A. Anburuvel for coordinating work of this session.
