Religious activities for blessing the new environment

Students of faculty of engineering organized religious activities for Hindu, Buddhist, Christianity and Muslim students on 31st December 2016 and 1st January 2017. Purpose of the event was to bless the newly built engineering faculty and bless the students, academic staff and nonacademic staff at Kilinochchi premises of University of Jaffna. Most of the students participated in all the activities.

Hinduism religious Ceremony was held 9.00 AM to 12.00 PM on 31st December 2016. Many students and staff participated the event. Hindu program was Hindu meditation based on techniques by Swami Chinmayananda conducted by Brahmachari Shivendra Chaitanya. There was a motivational Talk on Secret of Success by him also.


Buddhism religious Ceremony held from 7.00 PM on 31st December 2016. Many students and staff participated the event. Buddhist event was Pirith Chanting ceremony with an alms giving. It started from 9 .00 PM. 15 monks from University of Sri Jayawardenepura participated the event. It was wonderful sleepless night to engineering students. Next day morning alms giving conducted to monks and all the students.
Islam religious Ceremony was held 4.00 PM to 6.00 PM on 31st December 2016. Many students and staff participated the event. Their ceremony was Islamic prayer and talk. Topic of the talk was spread peace among people & prayer for peaceful life.
