Field visit to the Eluvaitheevu Hybrid Power Plant

Students of 2013/E and 2014/E, who are specializing in the fields of Electrical & Electronic Engineering visited Eluvaitheevu hybrid power station on 30th of June 2017, which has the solar power generation, wind power generation as well as Diesel power generation in a small scale. This visit was arranged by Dr. V. Aravinthan under the course “Distribution on Automation and Smart Grid”. The visit covered the discussion on the problems and solutions in the distribution network design and the arrangement of the grid in detail. The process of the power generation, fault recovery and maintenance were explained by the staff at the power station. The real environment experience was a valuable opportunity for students to relate the theoretical knowledge in the real world application.
