Dr. Ketheesan joined the Department of Civil Engineering as Senior Lecturer from 3rd October 2016. He obtained his B.Sc (Eng) degree from the University of Peradeniya in Year 2007. Then, he received his Master’s degree (Environmental Engineering) and PhD (Civil engineering) from New Mexico state university, United States in Year 2009 and 2012, respectively. He worked as a Research fellow at Nanyang Environment and Water research institute (NEWRI), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore from Jan 2013 to September 2016. He has over eight years of research experience in the field of environmental/water engineering with particular emphasis on waste/biomass to bioenergy technologies, integrated anaerobic digestion and membrane technology, microalgae to bio-diesel production and mathematical modeling of environmental bio processes.
His specialized research area is Microalgae biofuel production, anaerobic digestion and bio-hydrogen production, anaerobic membrane bioreactors,Metal bio availability in anaerobic systems,Mathematical modelling of environmental bioprocesses,Waste to energy.He has published in over 19 papers including International Journals, Transactions and Conferences.
